Alexander Hooper saw service as a Private (No. 15607) with the Hampshire Regiment at Gallipoli from 27th October 1915, he would be awarded a Military Medal in the London Gazette of 14th January 1918 for gallantry in France whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion, Hampshire Regiment. Hooper later served as a Private (No. 27954) with the 6th Battalion, Wiltshire Regiment before being discharged to Class Z Reserve on 23rd March 1919.
