Khedives Star, dated 1882, awarded to Sapper R.E. Collis, Royal Engineers who had seen service in South Africa during the Zulu War and later in the Egyptian War.

Charles Collis was born in Lambeth, London and giving his trade as Harness Maker enlisted on 20th July 1876 and remained at home in the UK until 2nd April 1879 when he would travel to South Africa where he would take part in the Zulu War before travelling home on 28th July 1880. His next overseas service was to Egypt where he served between on 9th August 1882 and 20th October 1882. He would then serve at home until 19th July 1888 when he was discharged.
He was entitled to a South Africa Medal, clasp 1879, Egypt Medal and Khedives Star.
