Khedive’s Star, dated 1882, the reverse contemporarily engraved to the tips of the Star in the usual Regimental style ‘R.I.D.G. 2156’and additionally privately engraved ‘Private J. Reiley’ as awarded to Private Jerimiah Reily, 4th (Royal Irish) Dragoon Guards wo saw service in Egypt and was present at the Battle of Tel-El-Kebir on 13th September 1882.

Jeremiah Reily, a native of Belfast, joined the 4th (Royal Irish) Dragoon Guards, in Belfast on the 30th October 1877, stating that he was a 24 year old Labourer. He served in Egypt from the 9th August 1882 to the 22nd October 1882, he was transferred to the Army Reserve on 7th September 1893 and was released from service on the 30th October 1889.
Reiley is also entitled to an Egypt Medal with clasp Tel-El-Kebir, 1 of 335 to the 4th Royal Irish Dragoons.
