Japan: Manchuria Incident War Medal 1931-1934, with the usual Japanese style wearing device to the reverse of the ribbon

The medal was created on 23 July 1934 for Japanese forces of the Kwantung (or Guandong) Army involved in the invasion and occupation of Manchuria. As war was never declared, the Japanese referred to the campaign with great delicacy as an ‘incident’.
