He had earlier seen service in Captain Forman’s Company as part of the 2nd Battalion, Rifle Brigade in Crimea during the Crimean War.

Private (No. 3603) Robert Wreatham, 2nd Battalion, Rifle Brigade had initially seen service as part of the Captain Forman’s Company in Crimea during the Crimean War. He would subsequently serve in India during the Indian Mutiny where he would take part in the operations around Lucknow which lasted from November 1857 until March 1858.
Additionally entitled to a Crimea Medal and Turkish Crimea Medal.
