Indian Mutiny Medal 1857-1859, 1 Clasp: Lucknow awarded to Private, later Sergeant C. Foot, 1st Battalion, 20th (East Devonshire) Regiment of Foot who saw service in Crimea during the including in the operations around Lucknow which lasted from November 1857 until March 1858 and later in India during the Indian Mutiny where he would take part in the operations around Lucknow which lasted from November until March 1858. He later died in service in India at Benares on 15th September 1863.

Charles Foot saw service as a Private (No. 2066) with the 1st Battalion, 20th (East Devonshire) Regiment of Foot and was present in Montreal, Canada during the first quarter of 1851. He would subsequently see service in Crimea during the Crimean War where he would be present at the battle of Alma on 20th September 1854, the battle of Balaklava on 25th October 1854, the battle of Inkermann on 5th November 1854, and during the early stages of the siege of Sebastopol which began on 11th September 1854.
He joined the service Companies in Aldershot from the Depot in Chichester on 24th July 1857 and shortly before they sailed to India, where he would take part in the operations around Lucknow which lasted from November 1857 until March 1858. Promoted Corporal on 6th December 1858 and Sergeant on 5th August 1863, he died at Benares on 15th September 1863.
