Heathcot Ross Alexander initially saw service as a Second Lieutenant with the Army Cyclist Corps on the Western Front from 15th October 1915, before later transferring and serving as a Captain in the Border Regiment with whom he saw service during the operations on the North West Frontier in Waziristan during the period from 1921 to 1924.
