Malthouse, 1st Battalion, East Kent Regiment – the Buffs who and was present out in India on operations during the Relief of Chitral between 2nd April 1895 and 18th September 1895, and then later during the operations on the Punjab Frontier which lasted from 10th June 1897 through to 6th April 1898.

George Malthouse was born in the parish of St. James, Brighton, Sussex and enlisted at Canterbury into the 1st Battalion, East Kent Regiment – the Buffs, on the 23rd December 1891. Serving in the UK until 26th January 1893, Malthouse then went to India and was present out in India on operations during the Relief of Chitral between 2nd April 1895 and 18th September 1895, and then later during the operations on the Punjab Frontier which lasted from 10th June 1897 through to 6th April 1898.
Malthouse returned to the UK and was discharged from the 1st Battalion, East Kent Regiment on 15th January 1904, and later from the 1st Class Army Reserve on 22nd December 1906.
