Hill,1st Battalion, East Kent Regiment – the Buffs who was present out in India on operations during the Relief of Chitral between 2nd April 1895 and 18th September 1895, and then later during the operations on the Punjab Frontier which lasted from 10th June 1897 through to 6th April 1898.

Edgar Hill was born in the parish of Sheldwich, near Faversham, Kent and enlisted at Canterbury into the 1st Battalion, East Kent Regiment – the Buffs on 14th October 1889 with whom he served in the UK until 1st March 1892. Hill then went to India and was present out in India on operations during the Relief of Chitral between 2nd April 1895 and 18th September 1895, and then later during the operations on the Punjab Frontier which lasted from 10th June 1897 through to 6th April 1898.
Hill then returned to the UK and was then discharged on 12th December 1902.
