Condition: edge bruise to obverse rim at 8 o’clock, toned, better than Very Fine
James Helsby was born in Liverpool and attested at Warrington on 9th February 1881 subsequently service as a Private (No. 2665) with the 2nd Battalion, Liverpool Regiment. He would travel to India on 5th October 1881 remaining there until 17th June 1887 before he returned home.
Whilst in India he would take part in the Third Burma War of 1885-7. Upon his return home he was immediately transferred to the Army Reserve being finally discharged on 8th February 1893.
