Peter Byng Akers-Jones was born on 19th February 1916, and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant into the East Yorkshire Regiment on 27th August 1936. Akers-Jones saw service with the 1st Battalion in Palestine during the Arab Rebellion and was then serving in India when he was accidentally killed at Lahore on 4th April 1939.
