Loyal George Carpenter was born in St. Thomas, Exeter, Devon on 24th March 1899 and would be awarded the Imperial Service Medal in the London Gazette of 28th April 1959 for his work as a Postman in Exeter. He later died in Exeter on 1st September 1991.
