During the post-Wold War I period, Hoover Ltd, the famous vacuum-cleaner manufacturing company, awarded military style medals struck in bronze to its travelling sales agents, likening their door-to-door selling method to a military campaign. The Top bar of the medal also carries the famous London art deco image of the Hoover Building.
