James Scott Anderson saw service during the Great War as a Private (No.1646) with the 2nd Battalion, Highland Light Infantry. Present out on the Western Front from 27 May 1915, his battalion formed part of the 5th Brigade in the 2nd Division. Anderson was demobilised on 4 April 1919.
