John Francis Wake Pawsey saw service as a Private (No. 5866) with the Royal Fusiliers on the Western Front from 14th November 1915 until 18th May 1916 and then again from 10th October 1916 until 28th April 1917. He would transfer to the Royal Flying Corps on 25th December 1917 and the Royal Air Force upon its formation on 1st April 1918 with whom he would serve with 191 Training Squadron.
