Brough, 2nd Royal Marine Battalion, Royal Marine Light Infantry who saw service in the Dardanelles between 23rd May and 28th July 1915, and later on the Western Front from 25th September 1916 being taken Prisoner of War on 26th October 1917. Repatriated to the UK on 3rd December 1918 he was demobilised on 4th February 1919.

John Brough was born in Newton Pickering, Yorkshire on 4th March 1894 and would enlist on the 17th November 1914 seeing service as a Private (No. PO.382) with the Royal Marine Light Infantry with the Dardanelles Expeditionary Force at Gallipoli on 23rd May 1915 until 28th July 1915 and later in France from 25th September 1916 being taken Prisoner of War on 26th October 1917 with the 2nd Royal Marine Battalion. He would survive the war to be repatriated to the UK on 3rd December 1918 and demobilised on 4th February 1919.
