Alfred William Baker was born at Old Ford, and lived in Bethnal Green before enlisting there. He would go on to see service as a Private (No. 422450) with the ‘A’ Company, 2/10th (County of London) Battalion (Hackney), London Regiment and died of wounds on 22nd July 1917.
Baker is buried in Rocquigny-Equancourt Road British Cemetery, Manancourt and is remembered as the son of Thomas James and Caroline Baker of 11 Totty Street, Roman Road, Bow, London.
