Great War Western Front Officer’s casualty pair awarded to Second Lieutenant R.S. Thompson, 18th Battalion, London Regiment – London Irish Rifles earlier 28th Battalion (Artist’s Rifles), London Regiment who saw service on the Western Front from 3rd March 1917 and who was later killed in action on 16th June 1917. Having no known grave he is remembered on the Arras Memorial.

Richard Seward Thompson saw service as a Second Lieutenant with the 28th Battalion (Artist’s Rifles), London Regiment and later the 18th Battalion, London Regiment – London Irish Rifles on the Western Front from 3rd March 1917. He would be killed in action on 16th June 1917, aged 20 and having no known grave is remembered on the Arras Memorial. He is noted as the Son of Captain Richard Taylor Thompson and Lilian Thompson of 28 Auckland Terrace, Kingston-on-Thames.
