Albert John Winstone was born in Middlesex and saw service as a 2nd Class Air Mechanic (No. 98953) with the Royal Air Force on the Western Front and was killed in action during a bombing raid on 23rd September 1918 whilst serving as an Air Mechanic 3rd Class with 1st Aeroplane Supply Depot, Repair Park, Royal Air Force. He is now buried in Terlincthun British Cemetery, Wimille and is noted as the son of Albert and Annie Winstone of 67 Cranham Road, South Bermondsey, London.
