Jose Woolley was born in Butterton, Newcastle and was a resident of Sandbach, Cheshire when he enlisted. He would see service as a Private (No. 12248) with the 19th Battalion, Manchester Regiment on the Western Front from 8th November 1915.
Jose Woolley was killed in action on 12th February 1916, aged 21 and is buried in Carnoy Military Cemetery. He was the son of the late James Woolley of 110 Evans Street, Wolverhampton and a native of Manchester.
