William Johnson saw service as a Private (No. 20292) with the Border Regiment on the Western Front on 25th April 1915, before later seeing service with the Royal Air Force as a Corporal. (No. 26230). He would be discharged on 7th May 1919 giving his intended place of residence of Darlington, Yorkshire.
