Harold F. Wheeler was born at Portsmouth, Hampshire and attested on 8th September 1914 and saw service as a Private (No. 2484, later No. 95354) with ‘A’ Squadron, Queen’s Own Royal Glasgow Yeomanry on the Western Front from 1st September 1915 and would survive the war to be discharged. At the time of the 1901 census he was a resident of Govan, Lanarkshire and was noted as a student.
