William Masters was born in St. Nicholas, Surrey and enlisted in Guildford seeing service as a Private (No L-10402) with 2nd Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment on the Western Front from 19th January 1915. He later died of wounds on 6th April 1916. He is now buried in Lillers Communal Cemetery. He is noted as the son of Mr. A. Masters of 21 Bury Street, Guildford.
