Great War Victory Medal and Territorial Efficiency Medal pair awarded to Private H. Crawley, 17th Battalion, (County of London) Regiment, - Poplar and Stepney Rifles, later Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force who first saw service on the Western Front from 9th March 1915. He would transfer to the Royal Flying Corps on 21st July 1916, and later would transfer to the Royal Flying Corps on 21st July 1916, subsequently being transferred to the Royal Air Force reserve on 8th April 1919.

Henry Crawley was born in Stepney and during the Great War initially saw service as a Private (No. 1263) with the 17th Battalion, (County of London) Regiment – Poplar and Stepney Rifles on the Western Front from 9th March 1915. He would transfer to the Royal Flying Corps on 21st July 1916 and would see overseas service in France with them as Air Mechanic 2nd Class between 22nd December 1917 and 3rd March 1919. He would be transferred ot the Royal Air Force Reserve on 8th April 1919.
