Alfred Norman Lesingham Bailey was born in Portsmouth on 1st September 1898 and saw service as a Private (No. 1617, later No. 165659) and underage soldier (17 years and just under 2 months) with the North Somerset Yeomanry in France from 28th October 1915. He would survive the war.
