Great War pair, Second World War Home Service and Imperial Service Medal group awarded to Private 2nd Class A. Jefferies, Royal Air Force who joined the Royal Flying Corps on 1st April 1918 and was discharged to the Royal Air Force Reserve on 30th April 1920. He would later be awarded the Imperial Service Medal in October 1944 for his service as a Postman at Kingston-upon-Thames.

Alfred John Jefferies was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire in 1887 and would see service with the Royal Flying Corps on 16th February 1918 before transferring to the Royal Air Force upon its formation on 1st April 1918. He would be discharged to the Royal Air Force Reserve on 30th April 1920.
He would later work as a Postman at Kingston-upon-Thames and was awarded the Imperial Service Medal in the London Gazette of 6th October 1944.
