He would be appointed a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in the London Gazette of 1st January 1957 for his work as a Higher Executive Officer at the Air Ministry.

Walter Frederick Jaggs was born in West Norwood, London and was a resident of Sutton, Surrey when he joined the Royal Flying Corps.
A Cadet, he was appointed a Temporary Second Lieutenant in the London Gazette of 1st March 1918 with effect from 23rd February 1918, and later a Pilot Officer in the Reserve of Air Force Officers on 20th April 1923, being transferred to the Air Ministry in November 1924.
He would later be appointed a Member of The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in the London Gazette of 1st January 1957 whilst working as a Higher Executive Officer at the Air Ministry, and would die in Rustington, Sussex on 20th July 1969.
