George Henry Foster was born in Blandford, Dorset and having attested would see service as a Private with the 53rd Divisional Train from 1st December 1915 until his transfer to the Royal Marine Artillery on 10th August 1918 with whom he would serve as a Driver (No. R.M.A. 3718) until his discharge on 16th June 1919.
