George Brough was born in Chadsmoor, Cannock and having enlisted on 10th November 1914 would see service with the 8th and 23rd Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers, first serving at Gallipoli from 21st September 1915, he would later be discharged on 1st April 1919 having suffered a gun shot wound to the right arm. His medals would later be sent to Hednesford, Staffordshire.
