Great War Officer’s pair, Coronation 1937 and Special Constabulary group awarded to Second Lieutenant H.P.V. Barker, Somerset Light Infantry and later Inspector, Special Constabulary who saw service on the Western Front from 11th June 1916, and who would later be serving as an Inspector in the Special Constabulary at the time of the 1937 Coronation.

Harry Percival Victor Barker was commissioned as a Temporary Lieutenant in the 9th (Reserve) Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry on 4th October 1915, and would see service on the Western Front with 1st and 2nd Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry from 11th June 1916 being promoted Lieutenant on 1st July 1917. He would subsequently be discharged and see service with the Special Constabulary as a Sergeant and would later be awarded the Coronation Medal in 1937 whilst serving as an Inspector.
At the time of the 1939 Register, Harry Barker would be living at 19 Lansdowne Road, Stanmore, Harrow and would be employed as an Assistant Manager in Photographic Goods.
