Great War Officer’s 1914-1915 Star trio awarded to Second Lieutenant J.W. Taylor, Labour Corps who initially served as a Private with the Rifle Brigade on the Western Front from 21st July 1915, before being discharged to a commission on 15th December 1917. He would be finally discharged on 11th May 1919.

James Walker Taylor was a resident of Denton, Manchester and gave his trade as a hat manufacturer when he attested at Manchester on 13th November 1914. He would see service on the Western Front from 21st July 1915, and would be discharged to a commission with the Labour Corps on 15th December 1917.
Initially attempting to gain a commission in an Artillery battalion, his sight was deemed not good enough, and instead he was recommended for service with a Labour Battalion. He would be discharged on the 11th May 1919.
His medals would be sent to Lowfield, Denton, Manchester
