Great War Mesopotamia Officer’s pair awarded to Captain E. Golding, Essex Regiment, late of the Army Cyclists Corps and Essex Cyclist Battalion who saw service in Mesopotamia on 4th July 1916, he at one time commanded a Trench Mortar Battery.

Edward Golding saw service with the Army Cycling Corps and the Essex Cyclist Battalion as a Lieutenant before later serving with the Essex Regiment as a Captain. He first entered Mesopotamia on 4th July 1916, the London Gazette of 17th May 1918 notes him relinquishing the acting rank of Captain on ceasing to command a Trench Mortar Battery on 9th January 1918.
