James Kerr saw service as a Private (No. 55626) with the Machine Gun Corps and would be awarded the Military Medal in the London Gazette of 20th August 1919 for services with 207th Company, Machine Gun Corps in Mesopotamia, originally listed as a Sergeant, this would later be corrected in the London Gazette of 19th December 1922 which confirms he should have been noted as a Private. The original Gazette entry lists the recipient as from Richmond. His medals would be sent to an address in Shepherd’s Bush, London.
He is also entitled to a Silver War Badge.
