Nur Hassan saw service as a Sepoy (No. 1971) with the 67th Punjabis in Mesopotamia and died on 1st March 1917. Having no known grave he is now remembered on the Basra Memorial. He is noted as the son of Ghulam Husain of Chakoa, Shakargarh, Gurdaspur, Punjab.
