Willie Sugden was born in Stanningley, Leeds and enlisted at Pudsey, Yorkshire and saw service as a Private (No. 47278) with the 12th Battalion, Prince of Wales’s Own (West Yorkshire Regiment) and died of wounds on 12th December 1917 and is now buried in Mory Abbey Military Cemetery. He is remembered as the husband of Mrs C.I. Sugden, of 4 Arthur Street, Stanningley
