Awarded to one of two men of this name who were killed during the Great War: Private (No. 17778) Edward Harrington, 3rd Battalion, Worcestershire Regiment who was born in Dudley, and lived in Tipton, Staffordshire and enlisted at Worcester before being killed in action on 20th June 1915. He is now buried in Sanctuary Wood Cemetery.
Private (No. 24988) Edward Harrington, 2nd Battalion, Essex Regiment who was born and lived in Bradwell-On-Sea and enlisted in Colchester before seeing service on the Western Front where he died of wounds on 1st November 1916.
