Great War Memorial Plaque issued in memory of Bombardier W.A. Newcombe, ‘D’ Battery, 107th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery who having seen service on the Western Front from 31st August 1915, died of wounds on 9th October 1916 and was buried in St. Sever Cemetery, Rouen.

William Arthur Newcombe was a resident of Kirkley, Nottinghamshire, and having enlisted saw service as a Bombardier (No. 82032) with the Royal Field Artillery on the Western Front from 31st August 1915. He would die of wounds on 9th October 1916 whilst serving with the ‘D’ Battery, 107th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery and is now buried in St. Sever Cemetery, Rouen. He is noted by the Commonwealth War Graves as the son of Philip Newcombe of Station Street, East Kirkby, Nottinghamshire and a native of Kirkby-in-Ashfield.
