Leonard Thurston was born in Stoke Newington, London and enlisted in Shoreditch seeing service as a Private (No. 27248) with the 14th (Service) Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers – Caernarvon and Anglesey Pals and was killed in action on 20th October 1918 and is buried in Montay Communal Cemetery and is noted as the son of the late Bird and Jane Thurston.
