The first, Private (No. 291065) David Sangster, 46th Battalion, Canadian Infantry was killed or died on 26th October 1917, aged 38 and having no known grave is now remembered on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. He is noted as the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Sangster of Greenhill, Cruden, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Was in partnership with Sangster Bros, (Carriage Builders) of Winnipeg.
The second, Corporal (No. 8778) David Sangster, 1st Battalion, Royal Scots (Lothian Regiment) was born in Edinburgh and resided there before enlisted at Glencorse, Midlothian. He would be killed in action on 20th February 1915 and having no known grave is remembered on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. He is noted as the son of the late George and Annie Sangster.
