Great War late Battle of the Somme Military Medal awarded to Private W.J. Hale, 1st Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps who saw service on the Western Front from 16th June 1915 onwards and would be awarded the Military Medal in the London Gazette of 6th January 1917. Discharged to Class Z Army Reserve on 7th March 1919.

Walter James Hale saw service as Private (No. R-9968) with the 1st Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps on the Western Front from 16th June 1915 onwards and would be awarded the Military Medal in the London Gazette of 6th January 1917 which covered awards earnt in the latter stages of the Battle of the Somme. He would later serve as a Lance Corporal and would be discharged due to Class Z Army Reserve on 7th March 1919.
