Frank Carney was born in Blackburn, Lancashire and enlisted there before seeing service as a Private (No. 2115) with the 1st/4th Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers and would be killed in action during the Third Battle of Krithia on 4th June 1915. Having no known grave he is remembered on the Helles Memorial and is noted as the son of Mr and Mrs. Carney of 118 Hancock Street, Blackburn and the husband of Elizabeth Carney of 67 Rawstome Street, Blackburn.
