Christopher John Lee was born in Camberwell in 1896 and would later see service during the Great War as a Private (No. GS-24281) with the 9th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers (London Regiment). He was killed in action on 7th October 1916 and having no known grave is now remembered on the Thiepval Memorail, he is noted as the son of John and Florence Annie Lee of 3 Welcome Terrace, Godstone Road, Whyteleafe, Surrey.
