Willie Bishop was born on 3 Dec 1895 and at the time of his enlistment was living at 36 Cambridge Street, Loughborough. He saw service first in France & Flanders with Nelson Bttn. RND. From 16 July 1917, and then with Hawke Bttn from 11 Sept 1918. He suffered gunshot wounds to his left hand in action on 28 Sept 1918 and invalid home to the Military Hospital at Sycamore Road, Nottingham. He was discharged on 22 May 1919.
