He would later be repatriated and discharged with a Silver War Badge on 14th September 1918

William Charles Barr of 65 White Lion Street, Islington saw service as a Private (No. 2359) with 2nd Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers on the Western Front on 22nd August 1914. He would be taken prisoner of war at Le Cateau on 26th August 1914. He would be noted as previously reported missing, now unofficially reported wounded and Prisoner of War in the Times of 22nd January 1915.
Later repatriated, he would be discharged on 14th September 1918 entitled to a Silver War Badge.
