Great War Battle of Arras 1914-1915 Star trio and Memorial Plaque awarded to Private W. Bennett, 10th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers, late of the Essex Regiment who is noted as having first served in the Balkans from 2nd April 1915 before later serving on the Western Front where he was killed in action on 27th April 1917. Having no known grave he is remembered on the Arras Memorial.

William Bennett was born in Old Ford, Middlesex and would enlist at Stratford before seeing service as a Private (No. 9664) with the Essex Regiment in the Balkans from 2nd April 1915. Later, he would serve on the Western Front as a Private (No. 56005) with the 10th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers with whom he would be killed in action on 27th April 1917. Having no known grave he is remembered on the Arras Memorial and is noted as the son of G.J. and E.J. Bennett of 42 Ripporth Road, Bow, London.
