Harry Rose enlisted in 1910 and would go on to see service as a Private, later Corporal (No. 9325) with the Royal West Kent Regiment in Africa from 6th February 1915. He would later transfer to the Machine Gun Corps as a Corporal (No. 61205) before finally transferring to the Royal Tank Corps with whom he served as a Serjeant (No. 7809467) and with whom he would later be awarded the Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in Army Order 112 in 1929.
