Great War 1918 Western Front Officer 1914-1915 Star trio and Memorial Plaque awarded to Second Lieutenant W.D. Culley, 1st Battalion, Hampshire Regiment, late of the 8th Battalion, London Regiment – Post Office Rifles, who having served on the Western Front from 8th March 1915 would be commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 27th November 1917 and later died of wounds on 12th July 1918.

Walter Duncan Culley initially saw service as a Private (No. 2289) with the 8th Battalion – London Regiment – Post Office Rifles on the Western Front from 18th March 1915 and would be commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the 1st Battalion, Hampshire Regiment on 27th November 1917.
Culley died of wounds on 12th July 1918 and is buried in Pernes British Cemetery. He is noted as the son of Henry and Anna Elizabeth Culley of 77 Marlborough Road, Merton, London. He is also remembered on the Christ Church Memorial, Collier’s Wood.
