Ernest G. Wilding was a pre-war member of the Territorial Force who saw service as a Private (No.1261 later No.200074) with the 4th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment, and with the Great War was then present out on the Western Front with the 1st/4th Battalion from 8th November 1914. Wilding was awarded the Territorial Force Efficiency Medal in Army Orders No.178 on 1st May 1919.
