Great War 1914-1915 Star trio awarded to Private J. Hudson, Royal Marine Light Infantry who saw service at Gallipoli from 29th April 1915 and would later serve on the Western Front. He would suffer a shrapnel wound to the right wrist on 22nd October 1916.

John Hudson was born at Wavertree, Liverpool and joined at Liverpool on 12th August 1914, he would serve with the Royal Marine Brigade from 20th November 1914 and travelling to the Dardanelles would serve at Gallipoli from 29th April 1915 until 9th January 1916 when the final evacuation of troops from Helles took place. He would then spend a small amount of time with the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force before travelling to France, where he would arrive on 22nd May 1916 and remain until 12th March 1918. While in France he would suffer a shrapnel wound to the right wrist on 22nd October 1916.
Surviving the war, he would be finally discharged on 4th February 1922 before later seeing service with the Royal Fleet Reserve.
