Henry Foy Thomas was a resident of St. Thomas, Exeter and would service as a Corporal (No. 3142, later No. 510055) with the 27th Divisional Signal Company, Royal Engineers on the Western Front from 22nd December 1914. He would be discharged to Class Z Reserve on 25th February 1919 and would be awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in the London Gazette of 3rd June 1919.
